A Master of the Arts
Eddie J. Porter, 36 PRO of Post 1 in Sacramento, is a master of arts
muscial, martial, and poetic. Porter, a Chicago native and a U.S. Air Force
veteran, started writing poems fours years ago when he was a lyricist and
singer with the original "Imperials" and someone called his lyrics
"poetry.". Since then, he has published three volumes of poetry, SATIN
TREASURES, A LOOK ON THE INSIDE OF ME, and ANGEL COME HOME. Porter is also a Master and
instructor of the martial arts, and has demonstrated them for many community groups in the
Sacramento area, where he is a Mangement Assistant at McClellan AFB. Porter says the aim
in his poetry is "to portray love as universal, as well as being a common
denominator in life" - as he does in "One Million Words":
Somewhere there lies one million words
yet unsaid
to surrender unto you
the perception of my heart
With you in my life
the concept of love
in its totality
has become a
reality
Somewhere there lies ...
